Inspired by a garbage stain on a carpet at work I passed every time I brought out the trash. There are multiple characters making their debut in this piece.

Around 1798, at age 28, Beethoven's hearing loss began and he became almost totally deaf by 1818.

Beethoven’s work on the 7th Symphony was composed while he was losing his hearing and was first performed in Vienna in 1813.
-
By the time the 7th symphony was performed Beethoven was profoundly deaf in one ear and struggling to hear with the other ear.
