Colorful drawing of abstract shapes and characters with vibrant reds, blues, greens, oranges, and yellows.

Inspired by a garbage stain on a carpet at work I passed every time I brought out the trash. There are multiple characters making their debut in this piece.

REASONS

for

Beethoven

to concede defeat.

  • Around 1798, at age 28, Beethoven's hearing loss began and he became almost totally deaf by 1818.

  • Beethoven’s work on the 7th Symphony was composed while he was losing his hearing and was first performed in Vienna in 1813.

  • By the time the 7th symphony was performed Beethoven was profoundly deaf in one ear and struggling to hear with the other ear.
